As National Director of the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), Mr. Hinson oversees five regional offices and a network of 48 minority business centers providing services to promote the growth and competitiveness of minority businesses.
The overall mission of MBDA is to achieve economic parity for the minority business community. In order to achieve this goal, MBDA is focused on building the foundation for the next generation of $100 million-dollar minority-owned companies.
Mr. Hinson is uniquely qualified to lead MBDA. Prior to joining MBDA, Mr. Hinson was President and CEO of Wealth Management Network, Inc., a multi-million dollar independent, financial advisory boutique. Before his own path into entrepreneurship, Mr. Hinson managed a 10-state sales region as Director of Advisory Services for Envestnet Asset Management, a $70 billion financial advisory firm. In his capacity, Mr. Hinson provided advice in asset allocation, portfolio construction, technology and product implementation. He also served as Managing Director of Business Development for the company.
Aaron Belcher is an experienced corporate and M&A practitioner in the technology sector, having advised clients in a wide number of industries, including software, semiconductors, internet, e-commerce, data security, social networking, IT outsourcing, gaming, life sciences and clean tech.
Aaron’s practice has included both domestic and cross-border acquisitions, investments, asset purchases, securities and corporate governance advice. Aaron has particular expertise advising on complex multi-jurisdictional cross-border acquisitions and joint ventures.
Prior to founding APB Law, Aaron practiced for several years at Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP’s Palo Alto office, providing corporate and M&A legal services to technology clients.
Aaron obtained his B.A. from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from NYU Law School, where he was an editor on the Environmental Law Journal. Aaron is admitted to practice in both California and New York.
Heath has more than 20 years of experience working with service and technology companies as an entrepreneur, consultant and corporate executive where he has provided strategy, business operations, sales and marketing, and product management expertise. Currently, he is division president of Insperity Financial Solutions, which provides expense control, cost-profitability analysis, and invoicing and procurement management solutions to help businesses optimize financial performance.
Yubo Bao is an entrepreneur and financial professional. Yubo is currently the co-founder of BIX Capital, an investment banking advisory firm based in New York, where he manages the firm and focuses on execution effort and buy-side clients in cross-border strategic investments. Prior to that, Yubo has worked at JP Morgan’s capital market group and the family office of Michael Bloomberg in New York. Before that Yubo has worked in technology venture investment and has co-founded two internet based start-ups, which utilized artificial intelligence for data processing. Yubo received B.A. degree from Connecticut College.
Mr. Bai Gan is the Director of Merchandising and Strategist for Zenni Optical, a California-based M2C (Manufacturer to Consumer) eCommerce company responsible for 50% of the online prescription glasses sale in the US. In Mr. Gan’s current role, he provide leadership in company overall merchandising goals, including supply chain management, OEM/ODM relations, product/collection development, new optical technology evaluation, product launching, site merchandising and checkout logic improvement through collaboration with digital marketing, branding, design, UX/UI, IT, customer service and diverse teams in the offshore manufacturer.
Prior to joining Zenni in early 2014, Mr. Gan was the Associate Director for International Relations at UC Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy, where he was responsible for developing and implementing institutional capacity-building programs with a focus on China and East Asian countries.
Mr. Gan received his Master of Public Policy degree from University of California, Berkeley and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Tsinghua University. He also studied Information Systems Management in the Business School at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and worked for the Li Ka Shing Foundation in Hong Kong on implementing higher education reforms.
